[Podcast] “Arc/Season” Separation?

[Podcast] “Arc/Season” Separation?

Got a message from a new listener to my show:

“Hey guys, new fan and love the podcast. I primarily listen on Spotify but it's hard to follow a specific story line. Is it possible to organize these into individual story lines, similar to the way other artists have albums?”

Three things:

1: He’s talking about the individual “arcs” or “chapters” we have within our first “season.” Natively, our hosting site allows us to define seasons for distributors. We’re not doing that, yet, as we’re not done with season 1 and don’t want to confuse long-time listeners.

2: Is this even possible? We’ve done research into other podcasts with multiple seasons, and we see where they’re separated in, for example, iTunes, PodBean, Stitcher, etc., but NOT Spotify. Does the platform not read those separations as albums?

3: If it IS possible without forcing arcs into “seasons,” how? It seems like Spotify structures music and podcasts differently, and, therefore, it doesn’t have the same architecture supporting one as it does the other.

Any help and insight is appreciated!
