Podcasts won't pause with wireless headphones

My Question or Issue

I've noticed that while songs are able to be paused using my wireless headphones' built-in play/pause buttons, podcasts are unable to be paused by the same button. While the fact that podcasts skip ahead 15s or go back 15s is understandable (and an awesome feature), being unable to pause your podcasts is quite annoying when someone tries to talk to you and you have to take out your headphones. Is there a way around this issue? Thanks!

Try deleting the app and redownloading it

No luck! I’ve also tried with a different pair of wireless headphones and had the same issue.
