Hi everyone,

Thank you for your input and patience so far.

We're unable to provide an exact timeline for a fix at this moment, however, rest assured this will remain on our internal teams' radar, so it's recommended to always keep the app up to date to ensure you're running the latest version of Spotify.

Don't hesitate to reach out to the Community again if something else comes up in the meantime.

Hi there @Fschucht,

Thank you for your reply and for sharing the video.

We actually tried this from our end without being able to replicate the behavior so let's continue to investigate this together.

Can you let us know if this occurs on one specific device or multiple devices?

We'll keep an eye out for your reply 🙂

Take care!

I can also reproduce this on my iPad Pro with IPad OS 15.5 and Spotify 8.7.46.1678. However, it is not reproducible on the Mac app.

Hi there folks,

Thanks for all of the troubleshooting you've done so far. We can confirm that this has been reported to the right team that's looking into it.

We'll keep you posted as soon as we have any updates about this.

Have a great Friday and start of your weekend!

My Question or Issue

When I view lyrics during a song the view includes a slider widget and current time (left) and total time (right). The slider is always stuck at the time that I opened the lyrics view, and the time on the left shows that same time.

Hey @jurgenvinju,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

Are you able to reproduce this with your account on a different mobile device or with a different account on the current device?

If so, could you share the Spotify version you're currently using?

If not, you can try performing a clean reinstall of the app on your current device like described here. It's also worth checking if the iPhone is not in a battery saving mode and making sure the background app refresh is enabled for Spotify. Here is how to do that.

Let us know how that went,

Cheers!

Hi. I’m writing to follow on this issue as I seem to be be experiencing the same on my iPhone 13. Has there been any progress? Thanks.

Hey @Ozgureka,

Thanks for your reply on this thread an welcome 🙂

Could you share with us the troubleshooting you've already done? You can start by logging out and in twice in a row onto your Spotify account; this way the system will force a resync.

If this doesn't do the trick, you can reinstall the app. You can find the steps to do it here. Keep in mind you'll have to download again the content you have to listen to in offline mode or without Internet.

Lastly, did you notice if this is happening on a different mobile device?  It’d be awesome if you could check. You can ask for the mobile device of a relative or a friend to open your account and check.

We'll keep an eye on your response.

Cheers!

My Question or Issue

The intent is to report a bug.

The subject is pretty straightforward: when the lyrics are opened, the progress bar of the track doesn’t get updated anymore, instead it stays at the point of the track when the tab was opened.

My Question or Issue

when I’m looking at lyrics(full screen) the time stamp displayed doesn’t update with the song.

It’s fixed in alpha channel so you just have to wait for the next public release.

My Question or Issue

Just a small issue with the IPAD mobile app, that kinda just urks me.

When viewing lyrics in a song the Timestamp bar stops moving and changing. The song still plays but the bar doesn't move anymore. This happening for anyone else? Its just my iPad, not my phone or computer.

Hi,

I also face the same issue on iPhone 13, iOS 15.6.1, Spotify version 8.7.58.409. I have also enabled background refresh and made sure the battery is not on battery mode. The issue still persists.

Hi. I did all the steps you mentioned above and I hate to let you know that it’s still not working as it’s supposed to, unfortunately.

I know for a fact that it never once glitches on my older device which is an iPhone 6 running on iOS 12.5.5, so here I’m wondering if it’s something that has to do with your recent updates that might not be optimized for iPhone 13.

Hey there @TheLittlePrince

Thanks for reaching out about this and welcome to the Community.

Would you mind performing a clean reinstall of the app on your phone to see if that makes the difference?

If this doesn't do the trick, could you give a different internet connection a go to see if the issue persists?

If the issue persists afterwards, would you mind sending us a short screen recording of the issue happening so we can take a closer look? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to see it).

We'll be on the lookout for your reply.

Hi,

The problem seems to solved during the first song after the clean reinstall. But, later the issue was there. I also tried different internet connection. But, there was no difference. I am attaching the screen recording of the issue

Hi there @Ozgureka,

Thank you for your reply and for all of the troubleshooting you've done so far!

Can you let us know if this occurs on a specific song/songs or if it's happening with all of the songs?

On another note, can you have someone log in with their account on your device - such as a friend or a family member to see if the issue persists?

We'll be on the lookout for your reply.

Take care!

The first time I go onto the lyrics, the progress bar is normal but when it goes to the next song the progress bar just stays on time the song was on before I opened lyrics and it stays like that unless I restart the app.

Its only been like this on my IPhone and IPad but it is fine on desktop.

Hi there @AhImRyan,

Thanks for the post.

Could you let us know your phone and iPad model and OS version + the current version of your Spotify apps.

Cheers.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your reports.

We've forwarded all the info we currently have to the right teams and they're actively looking into it. However, we can't commit to a specific timeline for this to be fixed.

For now, we'd suggest keeping your app up to date so that you don't miss out on any fix.

Cheers!

Hi.

I wanted to report an issue with the app on iOS. I’ve noticed that the song’s time stops progressing when I start following the lyrics. i don’t know how to describe it better. I hope you understand what I mean.

thanks.
