Radio Stations consistently have the same songs

My Question or Issue

I've noticed that Spotify's "Radio Stations" are really just playlists that never change. Is this the expected behavior?  With other services like Google Play Music, whenever I start a "Radio Station" with a seed artist the output is consistently different.

Am I missing something here?

Addendum:

It makes no difference where I use Spotify, the radio station behavor is the same across all platforms. I picked iOS because that's where I use it most.

Hi, 

are you follwing many artists? I think the more artists you follow and add songs by artists you like to your own playlists, Spotify will build listening preferences around what you like and listen to; I think? 🙂 Hope that helps.

I'm not because I never would have guessed that to be a requirement for a "radio station" but I'll be sure to give it a try. Thanks!
