Shuffle Not Working on iPhone

Shuffle Not Working on iPhone

I'm a premium user listening on iPhone iOS 16.1.2.  For some reason, randomly in the last few weeks, shuffle started working.  I turn on shuffle on playlists, but the songs play sequentially.  Has anyone had this issue?  Ideas for a fix?

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community. 

 

First up, it's well worth running a clean reinstall to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble. 


If this doesn't do the trick, would you mind sending us a short screen recording of the issue happening so we can take a closer look? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to see it).


We'll be on the lookout for your reply.

Here are a few things you can try to fix the issue:

  1. Make sure you're using the latest version of Spotify. You can check for updates by going to Profile > Settings > About.
  2. Restart your iPhone. This can sometimes fix minor software issues.
  3. Sign out of and back into Spotify. This will reset your account settings.
  4. Delete and re-add the affected playlist. This will remove any corrupted data from the playlist.
  5. Clear the Spotify app's cache and data. To do this, go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Spotify > Manage Storage > Clear Cache. Then, go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Spotify > Delete App. Once the app is deleted, reinstall it from the App Store.
  6. Contact Spotify Support. If you've tried all of the above and you're still having problems, you can contact Spotify Support for help.
