Shuffle turns off when selecting song

My Question or Issue

 Selecting a song in playlist that shuffle/repeat songs, turns off the shuffle. If this is i a bug, please fix it. If it's a feature, please consider changing it, as it serves no purpose, and is just irritating.

I know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstall of the app. Just follow these steps.

If you're still having trouble, could you let me know the exact version of Spotify and the exact version of the operating system you're running?

I have completely reinstalled the latest ios (12.1.4) and re-downloaded my music without interruptions. I have the same problem: Selecting a song in a playlist and enabling "shuffle" makes the one song repeat. This is with repeat OFF, because it wouldn't stay enabled anyways.

I noticed this recently as well, and it truly is ridiculous. I want shuffle to stay on even when selecting a song in a playlist!
