Some local files never sync to iPhone

Most local files are syncing to my phone, but some just never do.  

The files in question actually used to sync (before the recent changes to Spotify) but now show up as grayed out.

Renaming them, moving them, or copying them in Finder has no effect.

Neither does moving them to different playlists, restarting spotify (mac and phone), or turning off the firewall.

Or freeing up space or reducing the number of of songs sync'd or saved offline.

Any ideas?

I'm having this problem as well! I'm having it on Windows 8.1...hopefully Spotify will help us out

I've experienced the same thing, but haven't found a reliable fix. I also noticed that .mp3 files were more likely to stay synced than .mp4, m4p, and .m4a, but eventually even those were greyed out and wouldn't stay synced.

Hopefully this will lead to a fix!
