Some songs can't be played when I synced them

Some songs can't be played when I synced them

I use the iPad version of Spotify.

Basically, the problem is:

I am trying to sync the songs of Oasis, as none of their music is in Spotify.
I synced all of my local files,
And nearly all of them play perfectly on my iPad.
Except for a few songs, when I try to play them, it plays a 'piano' version of the song, or a 'live' version, that already exists on Spotify... which ruins the playback of their material.

I had this problem with a few artists that I tried to sync as well: (Badfinger, Left Banke) - is there anyway to stop this happening so I can hear the local file that I am syncing, rather than these other versions of the songs?

Hope I was clear in describing the issue.

Check the format of the files that are not playing. Are they .mp3 or something else?

The formats of all the songs is the same... I pulled them from the same CD.

This is just an idea but have you tried renaming the songs? Also, what country are you in?

I'm in the UK. I could rename the songs, but this would mess up my last.fm scrobbling. I'm sure there is another way to fix this.

What if you made duplicates of the songs, with one copy renamed something slightly different?

Nope, that doesn't do anything.

What happens if you try and listen to the songs while in 'Offline Mode'?

You need to unlink the tracks from the Spotify catalogue.

In the desktop client go to Local Files > Select the tracks > Unlink Track and then resync your device. 😉
