Some songs will Play on desktop but not iphone or ipad

Music saved to starred list will play on notebook but not iphone. Most songs work, but not all of them. They appear in the list but still wont play even when in online mode..

Is this just with your starred tracks, or is it all music?

Ik had the same experience. I just made a play list, made the playlist offline available. Not al songs are downloaded. All the not downloaded songs do not play on mobile, but do play on desktop. I have iOS 8.1

Are these songs on Spotify, or local files you have imported?

I am having this same issue with a song that is on Spotify.  I can play it from any computer, but not from the mobile app.  It will not play in on or offline modes and I can only advance to the next song by opening the playlist and chosing a new song.
