Spotify AirPods and Apple Watch fitness apps

My Question or Issue

Hi, when I am running I carry my phone and listen to Spotify through my AirPods. I also wear an Apple Watch and track my run using Strava or apples workout app. I receive audio notifications from these workout apps of my pace, distance etc. Problem is, these notifications do not break into my Spotify music through my AirPods. All other notifications do such as messages etc. The notifications just play through the speaker on my Apple Watch. Any help would be appreciated

Thank you for sharing this issue with the Community!

Considering other notifications can be heard through the AirPods while using Spotify, it seems to me that this issue is related to either the Strava app or Apple.
I'd encourage you to get in touch with them in order to get a better understanding of this issue.
