Spotify Unlimited and home Wi-Fi

Spotify Unlimited and home Wi-Fi

Hi everyone.

I was wondering why can't we have full acces to Spotify on mobile devices when we are at home, and connected to the home Wi-FI ?

I would like to be able to use Spotify anywhere in my house, a laptop is heavy and not really convenient to transport IN the house.

Is there a particular reason to this logic ?

Thank you. (and sorry for my bad english)

There is a reason for this. It's all to do with music licensing. Our agreements with the musical rights holders only allow us to give on-demand streaming access to mobile devices for Premium subscriptions.

Of course, as tablets get bigger, and maybe laptops get smaller - and with 3g connections, it's hard to actually define what a "mobile device" is. Currently, it's defined by the operating system, but I'm not sure. Whatever definition that we have of a "mobile device" in our licensing agreements, it's one we have to stick to.
