Spotify destroying my battery

Spotify destroying my battery

This is absolutely ridiculous. A music player in "offline" mode and with background refresh turned off has slashed 80% of the battery on my new iPhone 7 (new in January) within 6 hours while on wifi. Phone gets disturbingly hot as well. Been doing this for a week or two now. An MP3 player from the early 2000s can perform better than that. Figure it out.

Exactly same issue!!
My Iphone 6S didn't have this problem. But with iphone 7 it gets really hot and battery dies fast!

I have a 6SE and it's doing the same thing to my phone as well.

I have the exact same issue with my iPhone 7 128GB. The weird thing is that it only happens while connected to WiFi.

Same here

Spotify used 76 % of the battery in the last 24 hours.

The app runned max. 2 hours.

No streaming, just listened to offline music.

iPhone 6S 64GB

iOS 10.3.1

Spotify 8.4.0.623

Also I should mention that it's made my phone so hot that it just shuts down even though it's not out of battery. Don't know if anyone else has had that experience. I pretty much just try not to use spotify on my phone anymore which is a shame, because it's great.

Spotify came with an update a couple of days ago. It seems like the problem have been solved!
Version: 8.4.1.772

Fixed for anyone else?
