Spotify freezes when I open the app or switch back to it after iOS upgrade

iPhone 6s

Operating System

iOS 12

My Question or Issue

Spotify freezes when I open the app or switch back to it.

It has been happening since I upgraded iOS to the newest version.

Spotify had worked fine before the upgrade.

I haven't noticed similar behaviour for another apps so far...

Hi there!

I know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstall of the app. Just follow these steps.

If you're still having trouble, could you let me know the exact version of Spotify and the exact version of the operating system you're running?

I'll see what I can suggest next!

I've tried to restart my phone. It hasn't helped.

I'll reinstall Spotify.

Spotify version

iOS version 12.0 (16A366)

Hey @j86989.

Thanks for getting back to us.

Could you please update iOS to 12.0.1 and reinstall Spotify again?

We hope that does the trick 🙂 Let us know if it didn't help, or if you have further questions.

Have a nice day!

I've reinstalled the app again and it hasn't helped.

I've also restarted my device but Spotify still freezes...

I've inserted screenshots with versions' details for your information.

I’m having this exact same issue. Restarted iPhone and reinstalled Spotify multiple times.

Hey @lemaster,

Thanks for your reply in this thread 🙂

Can you let us know the exact make/model and OS of your device along with the Spotify version you use?

We understand you’ve already reinstalled the app, but we’d like you to make a clean reinstall to see if this makes a difference. You can see the steps to do it here.

Keep us in the loop and don't hesitate to get back to us if you have any other questions.

Take care!
