Spotify is playing on my iPhone but goes off when car ignition is on

Playing music on my iPhone but when I step into the car and turn the ignition on the music stops playing after about 10 seconds

Just to check, are you connected to Bluetooth headphones when this occurs? Or does it happen when listening directly from your phone? Keep in mind that if you've been connected to the car's Bluetooth source before (if it has one), it's possible that this is what's causing the music to pause, as some phones automatically connects to a known Bluetooth source. This means that the phone's current connection is interrupted.

Should this still occur when not using Bluetooth, however, did you notice if this happened after any specific points? For example - after an update to the app or the device's operating system. 

It would also be great if you could let us know your device's model & current OS version, along with the Spotify version.
