Spotify via Apple Carplay transfers audio to Volvo's Spotify in-car-app

My Question or Issue

I have a Volvo V60 (MY2021) with Apple Carplay support in Sensus Connect (infotainment system). When I plug in my iPhone to use Apple Carplay to play Spotify the music starts but pauses after some seconds. Playing again does not work. When I look in the Spotify app in my phone I can see that the audio is being transferred to MyVolvoCar, which is the Spotify in-car-app. Opening the in-car-app moves me back to Carplay, but after three attempts the in-car-app opens and plays the audio. 

I would like Spotify to not automatically transfer the audio to the in-car-app if I start it through Carplay. It does not make sense since it's not possible to play Spotify through Carplay unless I log out from the in-car-app.
