Working off of an iPad, spotify will not play any playlists. It opens and shuffles to a song, but once that's done no music starts and the timeline stays at zero.
Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall by following tutorial below:

Try changing to a different streaming quality, and turning off crossfade and gapless playback. This might get tracks to play again normally.

There might land some suggestions how to temporarily fix this issue, this is a known issue unfortunately. But try those steps above, might or might not help you.
I've exactly the same issue - playing my discovery playlist, each song gets 6 seconds in to the track and then pauses.
I'm a bit reticent to reinstall the app since I have over 500 songs saved to my iPhone and not in a play list. Will these automatically resync when I reinstall the app?
