Stuck on "a brief message from out sponsors"

Over the past 2 weeks both ipad air 2 and iphone 7 spotify players (non subscription based) have been getting stuck on the  "A brief message from our sponsors" screen. Clicking through to the advertised content does not make any difference to continued play. I am attempting to play either device through a Logitech ultimate ears Roll 2. Will have some success when exiting Spotify, and re-opening the app, but again it seems to hit the same problem.

If you are on mac just quit the application if you have IOS just quit the app I guess I only have a mac that does this but it should work.

Thanks, but unfortunately I'm using it as music within a reception area, and as a noise screen. It will stop the problem, and allo music to keep playing, but I'd prefer to have it unmanned and running through a playlist like it used to, so that I don't need to keep resetting it after potentially each song has been played.
