Stuck on shuffle play

My phone is stuck on shuffle play, not allowing me to pick the songs I play. Spotify is telling me I must upgrade to Premium. I find this strange because no other people I know have encountered this problem. Is this normal? Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

If you're using an iPhone or an iPod, it only stays on shuffle play. In order to play the songs you want you need a screen as big as a iPad mini, that's my understanding because the same thing was happening to me on my phone, I used my iPad mini for it and then it worked, read it somewhere that that happens.

Happening to me as well but I am using samsung android .
