Volume Lowering Automatically

Solved!

Volume Lowering Automatically

On some, but not all tracks, the music will start at a certain volume, then automatically drop quite a bit.  To listen at the volume I'd like, I have to raise the volume, but then the first few seconds before it automatically drops are really loud.  It happens with the built in speaker, over headphones, and over bluetooth, so it is not specific to how I play the tracks.  This is not new to the latest update; I've been having the issue for a while.  It does not affect the same tracks played on the desktop player, so I know it is not the content of the song.  Is anyone else having the same issue?  Has anyone found a solution?

The volume goes up and down up and down up and down its like a DJ is turning down the song for some sing along parts.  Its random. Does not happen in the same spots on the same songs or playlists.  At this point i'm giving up as it's unusable and with this happening for over a year its a safe bet the engineers are really challenged.  Bye bye Spotify.

I've also attached a nice little screen shot of the 'Technical/Help Forum' that leaves you stranded with no way to actually fill out some kind of bug/reporting form.

I have the same problem, volume lowers automatically both on playlists that i have available offline and other tracks.

Just happened, seems to be happening both on cellular network and on wifi. I havent noticed it on windows desktop or ipad ios, but often on iphone 5s. When i restart the app the volume works.

This is VERY FRUSTRATING!!! For the past  month the volume on my S5 keeps automatically lowering darn near every song. I've tried ALL of the 'solutions' on here and NONE work. I feel like I pay $10 a month then this should work. I would hate to leave Spotify but If there isn't a way to fix it I will stop my subscription with them. How in the hell is there no way to fix this? Too many people have the same EXACT issue on several different devices so it has to be SPOTIFY causing the issue. Some one PLEASE Advise on how to fix this annoying & frustrating issue!

I have the same issue. I'm on an iPhone 6 running iOS 9.0.1. It seems to happen when I open another app, like email or Facebook, but not every time. It also happens when I don't do anything but another app gives me a notification, such as a new email or post. Again, not every time, but very frequently. Very frustrating.

PS, I have EQ, volume limit, and sound check turned off.

Ok just found a solution in Reddit that suggested swiping Facebook closed and this fixed it immediately; the volume returned to normal right away. Though this will be an annoying fix to do every time.

i believe it should be enough to completely disable auto-play videos&music  in facebook. havent had any issues since i disabled that option.

this isnt related to facebook. Happens even with all apps closed. Happens to too many people on too many devices. Tried everything. For me, ruines the experience and im cancelling my subscription until there's a solution and spotify can promise me a quality i deserve for 10$ a month

I figured out the problem. For me it was simply the S5 earbugs that came
with the S5. They must have something that makes it automatically turn down
if they get wet or too hot because once I switched to other earbugs I no
longer had the issue. So even though the sound is amazing with the S5
earbugs & they are free I can't use them because I sweat A Lot when i work
out which some how causes the earbugs & my phone to keep constantly turning
down.

Galaxy s5 go to sound then to music effects at the bottom. Change the setting from soundalive to musicfx. Problem solved. It drove me insane for so long. I finally got it! Let me know if that works

Ignore that

Thanks! I checked my equalizer it was set to Custom. I reverted it back to Normal and voila! Everything turned back to normal.

Thanks!

This solution does not work

Worked for me! Problem solved. Thanks

I'm experiencing this same problem on Windows 7

I got it solved by going to spotify-settings and and turning off volume normalization (its a feature which makes every song play at the same volume)

Nope it’s not what I’m looking for - I’m I’ve got a game playing in the background spotify lowers the volume to accommodate the game however it still lowers when the game has turned the audio off.

I had a similiar problem: sometimes (when opening certain apps or webpages) the spotify music volume was lowered. When I turned off "Reduce the volume when windows detects communications activity" (Sound > Cummunications > Do nothing) this behavior disappeard.

I hope this can help someone with the same problem.
