My Question or Issue
My multiroom group of 2 Alexa Echo Flex (new) appear as speakers (single speaker icon) in the Spotify iOS App. See attachment. When starting Music only one speaker plays. From Alex App and from Windows Spotify App multiroom works as expected and also shows speaker group.
Tried already the following:
- Ensured Echo firmware is up to date on all devices: 6208506244
- Ensured Spotify is up-to-date: 8.6.82.1634
- log-off
- clean uninstall
- soft reboot
- log-off and re-login to spotify in Alexa
- speaker group deleted and created new
- relinked amazon account to echos
After some re-logins the group appeared correctly, but just for some minutes/hours.
Hey @Febus123,
Thanks for posting here.
The troubleshooting steps that you've tried so far are very good.
Could you also try relinking your account to the speaker to see if anything changes?
It's also a good idea to make sure that the firmware is up-to-date.
Let us know, how it goes.
@Ver, it did not take long... I have been listening in the background and all over sudden music stopped and icon is back from "speaker group" to single speaker.
Any further ideas would be highly appreciated!
Edit: Currently the iPad app is ok and the iPhone app not. I can even start music on the group from the iPad...
Weird...
Hey @Febus123,
Thanks for keeping us posted 🙂
Just to double-check-does this occur only when you're using your phone? If it does, could you confirm if you've tried these steps for a clean reinstall?
If you're using any battery optimization or power saving apps, you can try deactivating them for Spotify to see if that changes anything.
When did this start happening?
Keep us in the loop.
