iTunes overriding Spotify on playback in Chevy Silverado

anyone getting this issue or know how to fix it? I plug my iPhone 6 plus into the USB port in the middle console and when I try to play music from Spotify, iTunes keeps overriding and playing the first song in my song list. I have to constantly press play on Spotify and after about 10 tries it will keep playing Spotify. But after a few songs iTunes will start overriding again! Any help would be appreciated. I'm driving a 2015 Chevy Silverado.

I'm ready to kill all the band members of U2 if this happens one more time!!! Most annoying thing. Would rather wreck 20times over listening to the binging of that horrible U2 song. ANY solution to this yet?
