ios App freezes while adding songs to playlists

I haven't been able to add songs to playlists for weeks.  I have the latest iOS and Spotify version.  When I tap add, the modal UI comes up.  Then I tap the list I want to add it to and it highlights (responds).  Then the modal UI never disappears, the song is not added to the playlist, and I have to hit cancel to remove the modal UI.  Note that because hitting cancel removes the modal UI, the app is not frozen, and because the song is not added to the playlist, it's not JUST a UI issue.  Something else is going on

What do I have to do to escalate this?  My iPhone app is barely usable and I'm paying premium
