Home Assistant allows users to connect their Spotify account to automate their home based on the music they are playing, or control the music as part of an automation.
To be able to do this reliably we poll the player status API (currently every 30 seconds). The problem is that we hear from users that they often see a quota exceeded 429 errors. It is also impacting onboarding new users as they are also receiving 429 status codes while authorizing.
From the documentation it sounds like there is a per-user API rate limit but since this is also impacting new users, I am having my doubts. Is there a max users per app limit too?
Anyone know how limits are determined? Our app already has "extended quota".
