Can't Voice type

I have a paid spotify account. I am using Spotify on an Android device. I am not able to do voice typing to search nor have I been able to for quite a while. I have tried the native Samsung keyboard, Google's keyboard, and Microsoft swiftkey.

 

While I can ask Google's assistant to open a song or playlist, I want to be able to search inside the app with my voice. 

 

I feel like I have seen other people with this issue when searching for a solution, but they're all really old posts. Any ideas what I can try? 

 

I have done the obvious uninstall reinstall, clear cache, turn off phone, check for updates.
