Change from amex to mastercard

I want to change my payment method from Visa to Amex. When I go to change my payment methods I click on the Amex/Discover option and go to the "change" button. I input the Amex info and proceed; however, on the next page it says that my payment method is Mastercard. I would like to know if the Amex is going through and the site is just glitching or if the problem is on my part.

As long as it accepts the card number, there shouldn't be a problem, even if it misidentifies the card.
