Free 30 Day Premium & Student Discount

Hey,

 

I've just signed up for the free 30 day premium subscription for my account which, when it expires, will renew at the normal rate of £9.99 per month.

However I have access to the student discount with NUS and would like to apply that as soon as this free period ends.

 

Does anyone know what I should do to successfully make this happen?

 

I've seen that you can apply the discount at the end of the current billing period, but I was unsure if the free trial counted as a billing period. So do I apply it now, to activate 30 days from now? or do I do something else like cancel the free trial just before it ends and then proceed to get the student discount?

 

Please ask if any of this doesn't make sense!

I don't work for Spotify, so you would need a staff member to answer that.

However, I was a premium subscriber before I applied my NUS discount, and it just changed my renewal price in my profile on the next renewal date. Been paying the lower rate ever since 🙂

Hey! 🙂

 

I'm guessing you put in your payment details when you subscribed for the 30 day free trial? 

If those details are correct and you don't want to change them, then I think you can add your NUS extra card now, and you will get the reduced rate the next time your subscription renews, which will be at the end of your trial period.

Yeah I did and they would be the details I'd use to pay for the discount.

If anything goes wrong, the payments team are always on hand to help. They will not let you be out of pocket, Spotify are really nice like that! 🙂

Oh good 🙂 Where would I contact them? (Just in case)

You can use the online contact form to talk to the Spotify team directly. They aim to reply to all queries within 48-hours. 

Sometimes if you contact them using the form, you will get an automated email reply telling you to visit the community, its worth noting here for future that if that happens, simply reply to that automated email and it will be sent to a member of the team for you 😉
