used a gift card for $30 but was still charged monthly fee

hi i have redeemed a gift card for $30 but the $9.99 auto debit payment was still made this month. I expected my account to be good for another 3 months. why did i get charged?

If spotify has charged you when you have used the gift card, the money that was charged will go towards the next month.
