My Question or Issue
Got an S21 Ultra a few weeks ago. Ever since, Spotify is almost always saying it is offline, and that there is "no internet connection available". HOWEVER -- it will let me listen to any music or podcasts that are in my library. It will NOT let me select a song from a playlist, album, etc., but will play if I start it with "shuffle play", at which point I can turn off shuffle and skip through the tracks as normal.
Every other app on my phone accesses the internet just fine at all times.
I have updated the app, uninstalled and completely reinstalled multiple times. I have turned "offline mode" on and off several times. I have cleared the cache. Nothing makes a scrap of difference -- approximately 80% of the time, it starts up like this and nothing seems to make a difference. The other 20% of the time, it starts up JUST FINE, but eventually the stated problem always crops up, whether I'm sitting still at my desk connected to the wifi, driving around with a strong 5G connection, anything in between.
Attached is a screenshot.
Where are you getting that version 1.1.1.1 app reference from. I just re-downloaded the latest Spotify version and it is showing as 8.8.14.575
Sorry, what i meant is the VPN app 1.1.1.1 that you can find on Play Store. Running it and opening spotify is fixing the issue.
Thanks, it worked for me. Changing the private DNS to DNS.google in connection setting on my samsung s22 ultra. Previously no internet connection on wi-fi, mobile network worked fine
This works on s10+ also. Thanks!!!
Thanks changing dns to google worked!
Just wanted to let you know this worked for me too. I was only having connection problems on the wifi at work, but at home and others were fine, which made me think it was related to the work wifi network. Toggling the DNS to dns.google then back to Automatic fixed the connection problem for me
This worked for me as well. Thank you I had been without my Spotify for months. I have a Samsung one plus Thank you so much
I have this issue on two devices, pixel 4a 5G and Samsung Galaxy Tab S5E. I'm convinced it's a setting on my router that Spotify doesn't like, though my router settings are locked through my connect provider! EDIT: just installed the 1.1.1.1 safer internet app from the Google Play Store and hey, ho the issue is fixed 😀
I ran the "compatibility troubleshooter" and it fixed mine.
