Stpotify stops streaming and goes offline when device goes to sleep

Noticed this a couple of times now -- when I'm on mobile data and using the radio or any form of streaming, the music stops and Spotify goes offline when the phone goes to sleep. I'm on a Nexus 4 with the latest version of Spotify - 0.6.4.47
