Discovery level in personalized playlists

I would love to have a Discovery level option on Spotify.

Currently most of the songs on Daily Mixes or Autoplay are songs that I already liked. This is great but sometimes I am under the impression that the same songs are always shown to me and I wish to have the option to adjust the Discovery level, for example:

- High: high discovery would show more unknown songs that I could like, let's say around 70 percent of unknown songs and 30 percent liked ones.

- Normal: around 50% of liked/unknown songs.

- Low: this seem to be the current way Spotify works, showing around 70 or 80 percent of liked songs.

The new "Discovery level" option would influence Daily Mixes, Autoplay and Radio stations once defined by the user. The default option would be how things work today, but it would be very helpful give the users an option to define if they would like to discover more music.

I hope you may consider this idea and hopefully implement it soon.

When I go to an artist or song radio, the algorithm that creates the playlist seems to be biased towards my existing preferences.

This means that when I find a new artist I like and want to find similar music, I'm faced with loads of the music I've already liked/added to a playlist even if those songs don't really seem relevant.

What I'd like is a way to generate artist/song radio without any bias. As if I had just joined Spotify and it didn't have any idea about my music preferences.

Almost like how when you use Google Chrome's incognito mode, it forget's all your previously browsed URLs and gives you unbiased search results.

I love discovering new artists by listening to a favorite album and then listening to "Album radio based on [that album]" You can make this feature better by playing more variety by each artist that is related.

The related artists in "Album radio based on..." are great, but Spotify tends to serve the same song by each artist over and over again. I would think that since Spotify knows my listening habits, it can check that I've heard the top 5 songs by each of these artists many, many times, so it could serve me a deeper cut.

Again. The feature is good now. Playing more variety from each artist would make it GREAT.

“Go to radio” is already amazing. Sometimes I find myself in the mood for something very specific. Like a chord progression or the octave in someone a voice. Sometimes I just want to hear slow talking. I wish there was a way to add a “go to advanced radio” where you can select a few options to narrow your scearch further. Such as similar tempo, voice, vibe, instruments, person, topic. For example: I love Wine Pon You by Doja because of the Jamaican part and the tempo. I would selected “tempo“ and “voice” from select menu. To get more specifically I’d also select “vibe” because it’s a slow, r and b and sexy American and Jamaican song. I have no way to look up that specific of a topic if it even exists. I am in the mood for specifics sometimes and I love Spotify and it is doing the job well, I’m just choosy. Thank you for your time.

I came here just to suggest this, cause I find the suggestions can be "superficial" a lot of times. I’ve been thinking for a long time now to suggest that Spotify uses an algorithm similar to Pinterest (even though Pinterest can be unsatisfactory often) for music.

I feel the need to have suggestions based on similar characteristics to the sound I’m hearing.

this can be a massive change to how we listen to music, though.

I think that there is a very lack of special settings for the radio, where you could choose what exactly you want to hear at the moment. The most important setting that should be is to play only new tracks that you have not added to your favorite tracks / playlists, I want to be able to use the radio to add new songs to my library, as the "Discover" playlist is limited and is updated only once a week.

In addition to this setting, you can add others that will depend on your current preferences. Below I will attach an example as i see it (This window pops up when you click the radio options icon):

I am very glad Spotify came to Russia, but I was very surprised and saddened by the absence of this setting, because on our competing service, before Spotify came, 95% of the time on the service I listened to the radio with a personal mood setting.

Thanks!

One of the best features of the app was being able to discover new songs from a user defined "seed". The hide button was the only way to tell the system "I love this song, I even saved it in a playlist, but, please, recommend me something new ". Please, give the user the option of configuring the main display to have the like or the dislike button.
