[All Platforms][Social] Send comments in Collaborative Playlists

Status: Case Closed

This Idea would be a feature that allow us to add a say 140 character message to each song that being added in a Collaborative Playlist

So if I have a collaborative list with someone I can add a song but also add a note ( "Remember the beach bar in Tulum 2017" )  to the song.
The note would only be visual when I hover the mouse over it.
In reverse my friend can also add notes on any of my songs that I have added in the list for example  "I like the remixed version better, I will added it below"

I have seen several of these notes and comments suggestions over the years and I am surprised that we have not seen this feature yet.

Is it that hard to implement?  With all the similar past ideas combine below you will have more than enough "KUDOs" to add this as new idea and run it with the developers.

Spotify has "marked this as a new idea" even though it first came up in 2012. What is wrong with their product managers?

Indeed, marking this as a 'New' idea, resets the vote-counter!! Please add all votes from the past years together...and implement this superb id, thx.

This sounds like a great idea! I think that it would be fun to be able to comment that I listened to and enjoyed tracks that were recently added to my collaborative playlists, or to kindly remind Spotify users of the rules in my collaborative playlist descriptions when they add tracks that don’t follow them

mr_rome

@Spotify Staff: Please consider at least making the description of a collaborative playlist editable by a playlist collaborators or add a second one for each collaborator (up to a max. of three etc..).

That way, you can

1) use already present elements of the UI,

2) abstain from meddling with complications associated with simultaneous editing,

3) test the real demand for such a feature

4) pull interest from another focus group, e.g. amateur music collaborators

The basic idea of adding small notes to songs in collaborative playlists.

A character limit of around 100 for each song capped at 30 songs

Nice thing to have with a significant other

For context: just started a collaborative playlist with my brother. A great feature would be if I could add a short comment within the playlist such as "from here down, old songs I've been wanting to share" or "check this band's discography" or "I like your inputs, let's keep it going"

A comment feature/button between songs or on songs would be useful and fun for communication when we're both adding songs randomly to a playlist.

Thanks for the consideration!

Love the Spotify service. Hope to hear back on this! Thank you!
