Spotify playlist in a bottle won’t work

Spotify playlist in a bottle won’t work

I try and load the link but it’s just a black screen, or the error message prompting me to refresh. I’m pretty sure my app is up to date and my wifi is working. Maybe the world and his wife are all on at the same time? My friend has had this issue too.

I was in the middle of creating it when it closed. I'm not sure if it saved as I didn't get to confirm my selections.

Rant: So I opened my playlist in a bottle and was super excited to see what songs  spotify had picked according to the four songs i chose based off the prompts but to my utter confusion the playlist is literally just the songs i chose. Is it a glitch or was it only supposed to be the songs you chose. If the latter why only prompt me to choose 3 songs minimum. There should at least be a 12-15 minimum for a small playlist. I understand some people wouldnt have wanted to sit there and choose 15 songs but if its not going to be a curated playlist then theres  no point in my opinion of this feature. The songs i chose are already on playlist so I dont need one for just these songs. Anyways Im super disappointed.  Even when looking it up there are articles that tell you thats its supposed to be curated by spotify based on the songs you chose. So im not the only one that will be confused about this. Oh well!

I’m clicking this and it’s opening the app but not bringing up the playlist in a bottle. Any other ideas?
thanks x

also having this issue. The link and QR code take me to the Spotify app but it does not open anything related to the time capsule

Hi there @Apple16 and @q_3ysvb6x-rj,

Thanks for posting in this thread!

If you haven't already, make sure you're running the latest Spotify-version and if the issue persists, you can try with a different device to see if that'll make any difference.

My Question or Issue

Hello everybody,

I have the problem that everytime I open "Playlist in a Bottle" I only got the chance to open my old one from 2023.

After I opened it, there's no chance to create one for 2025.

At the beginning I also only get the chance to open my old one and look at it.

I can't click or do something, to get the opportunity to create an new one.

Once I open my old one and try to open the feature again, everything starts from the beginning like I never open my old one.

Thanks for Help 🙂

Hi there @Blosoe,

Thanks for reaching out. Could you try opening the page in an incognito window and seeing if that works? Also, if you use a VPN, disable it and see if that helps.

Let us know how it goes.

My Question or Issue

I was trying to make my 2025’s time capsule but it bugged or something because i couldn’t finished it, and then the banner that was announcing to make my time capsule disappeared. I really want to complete it so how can i do 😭

It only lets me view my playlist from 2023?

Hey @AandW,

Welcome to the Community!

You have until January 31st to open and save your Playlist in a Bottle from last year, but once you've saved it in Your Library, you can access it as long as you keep it. More info you can find in this article.

Hope this info helps clear things up 🙂

Hey @allydumit26

Welcome to the Community!

No worries, there are two ways to access the Playlist in a Bottle

Hope this does the trick 🙂

Hello, thank you for your answer, but no, when I'm going in incognito it has the same ending without the chance to create a new one.. and no, no VPN or anything.. 😞

Hey @Blosoe,

Thanks for your reply.

Is it possible send us a few screenshots or a short video of how things look on your end? Also, check if the same happens on a different mobile device (if possible).

Cheers,

Yeah, all of these links are only allowing me to view my 2023 playlist without giving me the option to create a new one for this year…

My time capsule bugged while having fun making pairing several songs with questions. Though it crashed it wouldn't let me back in stating the capsule was locked. Here's hoping some of my creation survived🙂

When something like Playlist in a bottle happens, you get a pop-up screen but if you accidentally or otherwise dismiss it, there is no other way to access it and you just hope it pops up again. I think it could be listed in the "What's new" section so you can access it whenever.

ABSOLUTELY! I've missed so many cool features from accidentally closing them. A "whats new" tab would be great!

I created a "playlist in a bottle" back in mid 2021 and it was said that I can open it in 3 years. I really want to open it now, but at the former website it only says "the playlists were locked up for another year"... Will I never be able to open my old capsule again? Did you change it to one year and I could have only opened it in 2022? Do I have to make a new one every January?

Hey,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community.

Keep in mind that the Playlist in a Bottle feature was launched just last year. The way it works is that the playlist you created will be sealed for one full year and you'll be notified once it's unlocked.

You do need to have created a new one in January if you want to open it next year.

Hope this sheds some light on the matter. The Community will be here if anything else comes up.
