desktop app doesn't play music on linux (3.16, fedora 21)

spotify desktop client won't play anything. When I hit play, it says there is something wrong with network.

I run Spotify on Fedora 21 without any problem. I use to download the .rpm installers from the Ulyaoth repository: http://community.ulyaoth.net/threads/package-spotify.6/
