My Question or Issue

When I try to open any of my playlists/library/liked songs, it shows a loading icon for ~30 seconds and then "Something went wrong while loading your albums." I can search for songs on Spotify just fine, but when I try to play them nothing happens. This has been happening for a week now.

Things I've already tried:
-Multiple complete reinstallations of Spotify (all Spotify folders deleted in AppData etc)
-Restarted PC many times
-Removed everything from the Windows Hosts file
-Spotify is fully allowed through the firewall (both Inbound and Outbound)
-Reset sound devices in Windows "App Volume and Device Preferences"
-Lowering/raising the sample rate for sound device
-Tried multiple sound output devices
-An older version of Spotify
-Hard reset router
-Changed Windows DNS settings
-Disabled hardware acceleration
-Disabled/Re-enabled ethernet within Windows

-Not on any sort of VPN or Proxy
-Tested Spotify in a browser

In a browser, Spotify acts very strangely as well. Spotify will repeatedly skip songs until it randomly finds a song it can play for exactly 9 seconds. It will play that song for 9 seconds and then sound completely disappears while the song progress bar continues to move.

I've spent many hours trying to troubleshoot this with zero success, any help is much appreciated.

A howlin' hello to you, phazeHello!

It sounds like you have tried a lot of troubleshooting steps already. One other thing you could try is clearing the cache for the Spotify app on your computer. Here's how you can do it:

  1. Close Spotify and make sure it's not running in the background.
  2. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.
  3. Type "%appdata%" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
  4. Navigate to the Spotify folder and open it.
  5. Delete the "Storage" folder.

After deleting the Storage folder, open Spotify and see if the issue is resolved. If the issue persists, you could try disabling any antivirus or firewall software temporarily to see if that is causing the issue. If that doesn't help, it might be worth reaching out to Spotify support for further assistance.

Not to be hounding you, but please keep me in the loop!

Tried deleting the Storage folder, and completely disabling firewall / AV, didn't fix it unfortunately. Thanks for the ideas though!

Guess I'll have to get in contact with Spotify support
