My Question or Issue

When I try to play a song I get the following error message "Spotify can't play this right now. If you have the file on your computer you can import it"

I have tried all the fixes I have seen:

Reinstalling app.

Using version from Microsoft store.

Disabled hardware acceleration.

Disabled crossfading.

Changed speaker options.

Deleted local files.

I've had this issue before and it was fixed by using the version from the Microsoft store but this isn't working now.

Spotify works on my phone and my laptop, web player also works only the desktop app doesn't work.

doesnt work anything for me

Updated plan to premium. Right after that, the problem started;

Whatever I try to play (my old playlist, an artist radio, an album, or whatever) first songs are skipped with the error "spotify can't play this right now". Usually song #6 starts to play, but after 15 sec or so, spotify goes silent, though it seems playback continues. This through web player.

My Question or Issue

just bought spotify premium and im using spotify on chrome and when i try to play a song it says `Spotify can't play this right now.` does anyone know how to fix it?

I am subscribed to a podcast and want to listen to the episode from 3 days ago. When I press the Play arrow, some other podcast comes up and starts playing. Floating over the computer screen, a message says "Spotify can't play that right now". After a few more minutes, I tried again and same result occured.

My Question or Issue

I have tried all the options seen in previous posts. It is a brand new PC updated to the latest patches. The problem occurs with the native sound card as well as with several USB audio card.

Still an issue none of the solutions work. Spotify = cancer company 5years no one solved this issue.

Whenever I select a song from my library , I am told "Spotify can't play this right now. If you have the file on your computer you can import it.

it can be fixed by re installing your audio output drivers.
it can be done by going to device manager - expanding audio inputs and outputs - then delete whatever your output device is - then replug your device (if it is integrated speakers just wait they will be downloaded automatically) and then your music should play just fine

I keep getting the message ''Spotify can't play this song right now. If you have the file on your computer you can import it'' from every fucking song. It's pissing me off man. I am a paying member. Works on my mobile but not on computer (Windows 10).
Yes i have uninstalled, tried to update, clear cache, everything. ts just doesn't work. Pls help i would wan't to play music on my computer.

using windows 11, x64 on a x64 system, also does not work in web browser. every song i click says 'cannot play right now if you have it on your pc you can import it'-- but i pay for this service and want it to work across all platforms like it's advertised. have logged out and back in. it works on phone.

Same issue.  Can play tracks using the web browser, but the app shows Cannot Play Right Now message.  Have cleared cache, reinstalled the app, rebooted several times, nothing seems to work for it.

I'm also having the same issue on windows 10 desktop, but was working on my laptop

I have tried everything I could find online and nothing worked, my problem began on the 29th and has been constant since then

My Spotify desktop client isn't playing any songs.
Each time I attempt to play anything I get a popup saying "Spotify can't play this right now. If you have the file on your computer you can import it."

I've closed and relaunched Spotify, restarted my computer, cleared cache, used the system try icon to 'Troubleshooting > Reload', and 'Troubleshooting > Reset App Data and Restart', reinstalled Spotify. None of this has worked.

my windows app is offline without being in offline mode. i think it is a downtime of spotify.

Hi, sorry for not replaying in... so long... The problem of that moment has been resolve but... I have another issue... I can not repruduce the music... It appears that message and well, there is my configuration, I'm a premium user... I already uninstall and reainstaled spotify... Do you know what can it be?
