app can't play music

Whenever I try to play music on the pc app I get the "Spotify can't play this right now" error. I have restarted the app, my computer, and reinstalled the app and it still doesn't work. It does however work on the browser version but I do not want to have my browser open for spotify.

As a next step, can you please check your hosts files using this guide (Windows/Mac)?
