delete greyed out files

 Hey guys,

I want to remove these greyed out files from my Spotify (Windows 10).

I previously had added them as local files, but later deleted the original files on my computer, without removing the files on spotify first (which might have led to my issue).

As you can see in the picture, I can't remove by using right click, or anyway inside of Spotify.

I also tried deleting the .bnk file, as other posts in this forum suggest, without success.

Yours, Maurice

Hey @maurice_ichi

Interesting, usually removing the .bnk file should help.

However, don't worry - try reinstalling Spotify, here's a clean method:

1. Close Spotify and uninstall it.

2. Go to %AppData% in Windows Explorer, and delete any Spotify folders you find in Local and Roaming folders.

3. Restart your computer.

4. Install Spotify.

Let me know how it goes! 🙂

hey,

thanks for your reply! the clean reinstall did not work, however I could simply select the greyed out files and press "delete" on my keyboard... --> issue solved! How could I not try this earlier?:D

Anyway I think that means that this issue isn't device related but the data seems to be stored in the user account (that's why the clean reinstall, which I did 3 times btw, did not work, I guess)
