[All Platforms] Music Videos

Idea: "[All Platforms] Music videos"

Artists record a video to go with their music / you could upload the music videos that already exist!
I really want to watch them on Spotify while listening.

At Apple Music I can choose between listening to the music, or watching their video.

There should be a music video feature.  You can see the videos of your favorite artists or see video playlists from your favorite decades or genres.

As a kid, I spent countless hours watching music channels, like The Voice and MTV. It was so entertaining to listen to good music and watch the music videos made for the songs. Artists still create music videos, but unless you specifically search for a song on YouTube, you're unlikely to come across them nowadays. Spotify should introduce a feature that play the music videos along with the songs. Many televisions have the Spotify app, so when you push play your playlist, the music would play through the stereo, and the music videos would display on the television. Ideally, this feature should also work on phones and computers via the Spotify app. This function would provide great entertainment in so many situations!

Spotify needs to implement videos AND streaming  into its platform to enable copyrighted songs to content creators toolkit. This would attract so many artists and content creators to the platform! Its doable, cmon be like the western WeChat in terms of multiple services in one app!

I would pay extra to have the music videos pulled into my Spotify account on my laptop and cell phone. I work for a software company and I hear similar comments from my employees.  (I always use my account for our get-togethers)  We all share the view that we don't want to use YouTube if we don't have to due to their censorship of content over the last 3 years.  I am not the only one who would pay more.

It's been since 2019... Spotify needs to start using their resources and get this going since the CarThing flop

Subject: Feature Suggestion: Full-Screen Vertical Video for Playing Tracks

Dear Spotify Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share an idea that I believe could enhance the user experience on Spotify, especially with the growing trend of video integration in music streaming.

Currently, when a song is played, Spotify sometimes displays short video clips or looping visuals (known as "Canvas") in the background. My suggestion is to take this feature a step further by allowing users to switch from these small video clips to full-screen vertical videos for certain tracks, especially where official music videos are available. This would transform the current visual experience into a more immersive one by displaying the full original music video in a vertical format that takes advantage of the smartphone's entire screen.

Here are some potential benefits of this feature:

  1. Enhanced Engagement: Listeners would be more visually engaged with the artist's content, leading to longer app usage times.
  2. Artist Promotion: Artists can offer their full music video experience directly within the Spotify app, increasing exposure and interaction with their visual content.
  3. Customizability: Users can have the option to toggle between the short "Canvas" loop and the full vertical video, providing more control over their listening and viewing experience.

I understand this would likely require partnerships with labels and artists for licensing, but I think it could be a unique way to merge music and video in a seamless, mobile-first manner.

Thank you for considering this idea. I would love to hear your thoughts on its feasibility and potential implementation.

Best regards,
Vrithin Madhusudhan

My Question or Issue **Idea**

partner with artists/producers to gain licensing on existing official music videos. Possibly assist artists in creating official music videos as well. Allow those to stream official music videos across all devices or primarily for TV apps. Allow for official music video playlist and or channels to be created. It would be great to have the ability to create your own music video library/playlist/channel(similar to the radio feature) for parties, events, at home entertainment, and bring back popularity for musicians to express and invest in visual and story telling creativity with their music.

It's been since 2019... and people are still asking for this, not everyone who uses Spotify knows this even exists, this would up Spotify game. But instead they still refuse to use this community Spotify and actually bring things to make their platform to make it better, make a difference and bring more users.
Lol I guess their okay with their current position
