This is not a new idea, but I haven't found any practical reply to it, so I think it needs to be repeated. I completely agree with Rennestein (screen capture below), we need to stop seeing irrelevant suggestions because it is annoying. Why can't it be possible to decide what we first see when we open Spotify on any device? (playlists, recently played, artists we're following, etc), and enjoy better our Spotify experience?
Please Spotify, let us have the home screen as we'd like. :)) Thank you!

Aaaaand as quick as they introduced the ‘not interested’ feature, it’s gone. Back at the full mercy of the Spotify algorithm gods. Maybe switching to Tidal isn’t such a bad idea after all…

Right, the function to hide things is really gone! But it wasn't really useful anyway, since podcasts were already displayed again shortly after.

Is it possible that the UX team went on holidays 5 years ago and never came back? There seems to be no way of costumising any single item on the Spotify homepage. The Spotify algorithm is quite persistent and keeps forcing anything and everything it thinks would be remotely interesting: one that has gone all the way from amusing to just plain mean was it's recent attempt to strongly push a podcast on Gay Dating Secrets... Are you trying to crush my self esteem and dignity?!? In all seriousness though, where's the "stop suggesting this" button, or "I really don't like this song, it's making my ears bleed" option? The more comments I read, the more I think another algorithm is blocking the Spotify team from listening to human feedback...

Hello

Has you are a massive company that take peoples money, you should have the option for people to Customise their Experience, at the moment you are packing too much content in so little real estate, that people don't want !! I myself would just like a player that only shows the Artists I like and the Playlists I make, not interested in all the Bloatware, such as recommendations, hot picks, mixes .... plus let people
have the ability to turn off Recently Played removal as a Permanent option.

Some of us are Old and just want a simplified music experience, can still share playlists but most of it is just garbage.

What really frustrates me here is I came to this message board looking for this solution. See that it has almost 10,000 votes and Spotify wants to do nothing about it. I'm tired of seeing podcast and audiobooks on my music app. I am also tired seeing genres of music that I don't care about. I am one step away from just canceling my subscription.

I am being saddened by Spotify’s lack of listening to customers, especially ones that put in money. We simply do not care about the latest podcasts/shows/episodes/whatever; we just want to listen to music and not be bombarded by junk record labels and other companies are paying for. I feel like the application is limiting users on what they can access, for example just being able to view how many listens any track has on iOS (not sure about Android but I believe it’s the same).. but that’s another topic. 

Limiting what users can do too much only leads to user-created modifications which are against the Spotify TOS, creating a never-ending chain reaction.

I am not saying podcasts are bad, I’m just pointing out users should be able to access what they should be able to access and enjoy using Spotify.

I totally agree with this post, getting recommendations and not being able to reject those recommendations is simply stupid. Let me choose what I'm interested in.
