Smart shuffle is a fun way to discover new songs, but it comes at a cost. Want to reshuffle your queue? Bam, wait a few seconds longer. Want to unshuffle your playlist? Bam, no longer works, and goes to a completely random place in the playlist.

To me this is an unwanted complication, and I'd much rather be able to choose in the settings menu whether I want to enable the Smart Shuffle feature, or disable it.

Yes, yes, I know there already exists multiple threads related to this issue, but since Spotify haven't fixed this issue (yes, I'm naming it an issue because that's what it is) I figured I'd just create yet another thread to show my dissatisfaction regarding this matter. 

So to sum things up: I - just like what seems like the half of the globe - would like to be able to DISABLE SMART SHUFFLE.

I hate Smart Shuffle with a vengeance. Please get rid of it. You're messing up the entire purpose of your product. Today it started popping up automatically again. Every time a new song starts playing, the shuffle setting resets to this idiotic feature. When I pay for a service, let me at least use it in a proper way! There is a reason why I marked my favorite songs: because those are the songs I want to hear, not any other songs.

Smart shuffle probably has some advertising value to spotify. More than likely artists/producers using it to promote music

100% for this change.

I use several DMCA free playlists that are used for live streaming and smart shuffle does not guarantee that the next song is going to be from that playlist. This means it can randomly start playing non-DMCA-free music and cause issue.

YES!! I *hate* "smart" shuffle because it has no idea why my playlist exists. It could be a group of songs that feature a particular session musician whose playing I'm trying to analyze; it could be a set of songs that I'm going to need to perform; or it could be any of a hundred other reasons that will not benefit from the addition of random songs. I cannot imagine ever using this feature on purpose and it's way too easy to accidently leave on (I've been halfway through learning to play a song before realizing it was not part of the set and had, instead, been "smart" shuffled in by Spotify). In the rare case that I do want recommendations, I will look at Spotify's suggestions at the bottom of the playlist.
