[Music] Crossfade when skipping Tracks

Hello, I don't know if idea has been suggested before but I couldn't find anything like it.

So, when you're currently playing an track and suddenly decides to switch song in the middle of it, it gives a very "sharp" transition.

My idea is to, just as the "Crossfade Track" option, to crossfade tracks even if you decide to switch in the middle of the song.

My main "Inspiration?" for this idea is partys. Everyone been through it and it happens pretty much every party. People starting to switch tracks every 10th second and it's just straight out annoying.

I think a crossfade would solve this problem, half-way at least.

Thanks for reading!

Hey everyone,

Thanks for coming to the Spotify Idea Exchange.

We've discussed this idea and while it is interesting, we aren't able to prioritize it and don't have any immediate plans to implement this. We will let you know if this changes in the future.

If we do have any new information to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.

This would be a handy feature - if you double click on the forward (next song) button instead of going straight to the next track - it crossed fades in to it. This would so amazing for party's when you dont want to hear the full track and would be such an enhancement instead of just abruptly going to the next track! Please consider. Im sure it wouldnt be too difficult to implement as you already have a cross fade feature. THANKS! Keep up the great work!

Hi I want to ask for a feature for the app, when I press "next song button" I want to crossfade the next song. I mean fade out the song that is actually playing and fade in the next song. Exact the same option "crossfade" but every time that I change the song. I hope you can do it. Thanks. Greetings from Argentina.

I was looking this feature for  so many years and now i found the software that do this. its called musicbee!! To that you must Click on hamburger menu (top left) then go to Preferences > Player > Sound Effects > crossfade tracks when skipping! Im so happy now i dont need a dj setup to play in my church! just wanted to spread. peace.

It's an easy feature, isn't it?

Really have been hoping it for many years.

Thanks

I just submitted the same suggestion in another way. Please for the love of God add this. It will elevate the app and make Spotify stand out further against all music apps as it can be used as a dj app for parties which would be legendary.  Don't waste time questioning this further. For example, if I want to play 1 minute of souja boy at a party and move to the next song in my que this would make that work and guests would be impressed knowing it was Spotify doing it and not apple music

Hey Spotify, you raised your rate so raise the bar on your services and give the consumer something that has been popularly requested since 2013! Its met your requirement of 100 votes 13 times over. Jesus Christ, have some respect towards the people who pay for your services

I think this suggestion is essential for a more pleasant listening experience.
Especially during a party.
Classically, a playlist runs with a smooth transition (crossfade).
It happens relatively often that a title doesn't work well and a new track is played (Some people stop dancing and leave the dance floor) so that the mood doesn't change.
Currently only a hard transition is possible.
This should definitely be improved so that there is a smoother transition.
I think that especially at this time, when there is no longer a Spotify connection in 3rd party software, your own app should at least provide some functions for a “party mode”.

Whenever I skip a song, it abruptly stops and abruptly starts the next song, which is very irritating, especially as when songs end they can fade from one into another, and it is very nice to listen to. If I have songs stopping and going every song, a vibe is harder to develop. If a song I do not want to listen to at that moment is playing, and I want to skip it, but do not want to ruin the vibe with a very abrupt , sudden, and unsatisfying change, It becomes a problem which becomes annoying, especially if Spotify recommends bad songs over and over.

Thanks to the Spotify team to always enfance the app. But from our public side, it serms technicaly not so difficult for your engineers to set this soft upgrade which consist in engage the Crossfade function when skeeping a track before the end. Are we far away from the reality ? Anyway we are all really really impatient and we do hope that our monthly fees serve those expected improvement. Sincerely Yours.
