[Android] Can't access or play podcasts in Your Library

Hey folks,

 

We're receiving reports that trying to access or play the podcasts in Your Library will return an error message. 

 

We’ve passed the available info on to the relevant team so they can look into it. In the meantime, would you mind trying the following?

  1. Updating your Android device's operating system to the latest available version (ideally, Android 10)
  2. Performing a clean reinstall of the Spotify app

 

If following the steps doesn't do the trick, it'd be great if you'd provide us with the following info, if you haven’t already:

  • Device + operating system version
  • Exact Spotify version

My Question or Issue

Wenn ich versuche auf die Podcasts zuzugreifen werden die Fehlermeldungen angezeigt (siehe Anhang)

Ich habe bereits die App neu installiert, mich neu eingeloggt, alle Downloads entfernt.

Ich kann die Podcasts auf dem Desktop PC starten und auf dem handy weiterhören. Musik Kann ich ganz normal hören. Hat jmd eine Idee?

 

I'm unable to access my podcasts in any way on my phone. When I'm trying to play them the error shown on the screenshot occurs.  I can start the episodes on my desktop computer and continue them on my phone. I can listen to music as always.

I already tried to reinstall the app as well as logging on again. Looking forward to your ideas.

  • The problem started 2 or 3 days ago. I simply can't browse any podcast page. And all the app gives me is a "An Error Ocurred" generic message. I already tried most solutions without results. Rebooting my phone, logging off and back in, logging off and removing all devices, doing a clean reinstall, cleaning cache. Nothing works.

Thanks! I can't see an option on my phone to upgrade to newer OS, only to update the current OS which is up to date. Is there a site you'd recommend we can safely download android 10? Thanks.

It doesn't work. I can't update my OS and the clean reinstall did not work.

 

I got a Huawei ALE-L21 with Android 6.0, Spotify version 8.5.55.1105.

Premium User, same problem, tried clean install and no luck. Podcasts show up in the desktop client but not on my phone - I get the Something Went Wrong error when selecting Episodes or Downloads, and An Error Occurred when selecting any show in Shows.

OnePlus 2 Model ONE A2005, running OxygenOS v3.6.1, Android 6.0.1.

I'm using a Huawei P10LITE with the latest Android 6.0 and the emui 4.0.3. version. A clean reinstall did not work. I talked to the Spotify support yesterday and they gave me a dummy login from a dummy account which solved the problem. I was able to open and listen to all podcasts. They recommended creating a new account and they'll transfer everything to the new account. Did not do it yet. But that might be a solution. So there is something wrong with the account.

Would you mind confirming the exact Spotify version you're running? You'll find it by tapping Home > Settings > About
