Issue with storage option switching from SD Card to internal

My Question or Issue

This happened with my last phone, Samsung S7 running Oreo (or whatever the most recent OS is) but it was fixed when I got the Moto X4. I like to keep a lot of songs downloaded offline because my service is terrible and I also spend a lot of time in the mountains. Before I I update my phone to the new Android Pie OS there was no problems. Now everytime I reset my phone I think spotify cannot see my SD card at first and tries to download all the music to its internal storage and I have to go back in and tell it to store it in the SD card. That is extremely annyoing but not the end of the world. What is really frustrating is that I think all of the downloaded songs are still on the SD card and just keep redownloading and taking up space. Eventually this will cause me to reformat the card which will be a major pain for me since I store a large amount of photos on there also. Is anyone else have this problem? I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the application so any other suggestions or help?

Hey there.

Why is this problem marked as solved when it is not solved at all?

This problem is annoying level extreme.

Writing that someone in some team is working on that doesn't calm me down.

When this will be fixed?

Why you can't you make app to start with a 30 seconds delay after the phone is rebooted and sd card mounted?

yup still an issue... was forced to update my phone, had over 3k songs wiped and storage set back to internal and all permissions were denied out of nowhere.

why is there no solution for this.... come on this is ridiculous.

It was solved for any phone that came pre installed with 9....m

That's happening to me too. I own a Galaxy s8, and i'm thinking of unsubscribing Spotify.

I've tried all these things. My problem is not solved. It reverts back to internal storage on almost every reboot. I can't believe this is an ongoing issue since 2016 and 4 years later we are still encountering it! Tell your devs to prioritize this issue!!! I pay $15 a month for this service and about to cancel and switch to something else.

I have a galaxy note 9 on Verizon's latest Android software.

This issue is not fix yet, I'm currently experiencing this problem, I purchased 128gb sdcard just for spotify data, and now it still redownloading again and again

It's been 20 months. Is there a solution to this?

Dear,
I recently bought a new iMac with Catalina on it. I have been using Spotify for years and the offline storage location was directed to one of my NAS drives that is connected over Ethernet. However since I have the new iMac and whenever I change the location pointing at that drive, next time I switch on my computer it is back to the standard location. What can I do to avoid this?
Thanks,
Paul

Same problem here! Still changing to internal memory on every restart. As a developer I can't believe that a problem like that could take more than one week to solve. Almost giving up of spotify because of this.

More than one year and this annoying bug is still here.
