Allow dedicated sidebar link to library albums

In the previous iteration of homepage/sidebar, playlists were always shown, but there was also a dedicated link to the library, and if you kept albums chosen by default, albums would pop up instantly. The new update has added two unneeded steps to switch from playlists to albums. Now you have to deselect playlists, scroll to find the selection for albums, then choose that--which in turns makes playlists disappear, requiring the three steps to go back again. Before, it was a simple, single click for each. No scrolling, no making the other option disappear. Seems like this would be an easy thing to bring back even with the new format, and would save a ton of time doing something that used to be instant and seamless but is now a process.

Hey @mouser_rumble,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

We hope you don't mind us moving your post out of the ideas section to one of our Help boards as it fits better here.

That being said, we'd like to add some insights. Just to confirm, are you using the Your Library sidebar with a compact view? Keep in mind that you can fully expand the sidebar by clicking the arrow button at the top and fully collapse the sidebar by clicking on the "Your Library" heading to see only art covers.

Once fully expanded, at the top, you can click on the filters:

Sidebar List Options.pngThis helps sort the content you want to see. If you'd like to get direct access to your albums, you can choose that tag to directly see them. The chosen filters and sort options will be remembered across restarts of the desktop app. You can read more about how this new sidebar works in this thread.

We value every piece of feedback you share with us, but our ideas board is to help us receive new product and feature suggestions that will allow us to improve our app and service for everyone. Keep in mind that when you post an idea, you must follow our Idea Exchange Guidelines so it can be approved quickly and smoothly.

If the above wasn't what your suggestion was about, feel free to submit your idea again, remembering that it's important to make sure your idea is clear so it’s easier for other users to know what you’re suggesting so they can add their support and feedback.

Hope this clears things up. If you have any questions or need anything else, the Community is here for you.
