So I've had this issue for a while. If you take a look at the picture, you can see that when I'm on my homepage, the first thing that pops up is the "ASMR with Amouranth" podcast.
First of all. I do not listen to podcasts and not plan on ever doing this. However, all I see on my homepage on my phone and iPad are podcasts. The first tab is "your shows" (on my pc I see this podcast as the first one and other random podcasts that are recommended). I listened to this podcast for literally 2 seconds, because I was curious what it was. Now, after 3 months, I still see this podcast as the first thing on my homepage.
My first question to the support team is, why is there not a way to customize your homepage? Literally all I have are random podcasts on my homepage. I have Spotify for music and not for podcasts, so I would like to add my own tabs, like for instance a genre and playlists.
I get that you guys have this layout for the homepage to recommend more artists to more people, but like please, let someone decide for themself whether they want certain catagories of music or podcasts on their homepage or not. For instance, with YouTube, on your own channel page, you can add and remove catagories like "most watched" and "most recently uploaded". On Spotify there is not a single customisation you can do to your homepage. Why is that?
Now what I'm mainly here for:
I have tried everything to remove the podcast. Next to the show there's a button to add more podcasts. When I add random podcasts, I can also remove those. However. With the "ASMR with Amouranth" podcast, I can add it, even though it's already for some reason and when I remove it, it stays there. I do literally the same thing as I do with random podcasts, but this one doesn't go away. I tried selecting everything as 'finished listening to' and doing the same as above, but that doesn't work. Selecting everything as not listened to also doesn't work.
HOW do I remove this podcast? I've tried literally everything.
Fun fact: Spotify founders are betting hard on new technology to revolutionize healthcare. It was in the news in Sweden a couple of weeks ago. The idea is to scan the whole body that, using their amazing technology, will allow them to discover all sorts of ailments (I am not making this up). So we should entrust our innermost secrets (literally) to a company who clearly do not respect how collected data from customers are managed. It does not bode well
Just adding to the list of frustrated users. I've got a podcast front and center on my homepage that I listened to for a couple of minutes before determining it was not of interest to me. The icon displays in bold letters something of a private matter. This was over 6 months ago and still the first thing that pops up on my damn homepage. I'm a subscriber of over 10 years and to see that y'all refuse to address this issue with a simple option to remove has me questioning whether I need to move to a service that is better at addressing customer needs.
It's very frustrating to deal with. Could you please elaborate on the issue with fixing the "Your Shows" tab? Despite not complaining about the shows I don't listen to being displayed, it is still not accurately displaying the shows that I do listen to.
How has it not been addressed since July 23rd, 2021?
It's been an over the year from your reply. Anything changed?
Because honestly, for me it's a reason to stop paying for Spotify premium and delete the app.
I just started a two month free trial of Spotify. Love that I can find music I can’t find elsewhere easily, but out of curiosity, I listened to a couple of “dirty” podcasts (and not even the whole show), and now they are permanently on my “your shows” tab. I too have tried everything to get rid of it, including clearing cache on multiple devices. My wife saw the podcasts on my Spotify homepage and got upset with me. What the F, Spotify? I was very easily going to be a paid subscriber but because of this and Spotify’s unwillingness to provide an option to have users control what appears in the “Your Shows” I am cancelling the free trial today. Spotify sucks so much because of this. Why do I have to be reminded forever that I listened to some nasty podcasts on the very first day that I started browsing for podcasts? They are certainly not “my shows!” Who the F does Spotify think they are to call them “Your Shows.” I have plenty of podcasts that I have subscribed to since and none of them show up in the “Your Shows” tab. The only ones that keep showing up on the “Your Shows” tab are the couple nasty ones I listened to for a few minutes out of curiosity on my first day of signing up with Spotify. I’m done. Back to Apple Music for me! Spotify is either autistic or has is sociopathic or both.
I have the same problem this is so annoying! I can't stand STeven Barlett's face anymore. I listened to that podcast once and absolutely hated it. there's gotta be an easy fix for this ridiculous feature. This app is web based anyway, why is it so hard??
Hey there,
Thanks for posting in the Community.
Could you post screenshots for where you're seeing the podcast? Is it on the Home Page of the app? Podcasts on the Home Page can't be removed.
In the meantime try logging out and back in again a few times to see if this brings any change.
Keep us posted,
Cheers!

I am having the same problem too. There are 2 podcasts I listened to for a few minutes and now they won't go away even after I stopped following them. They aren't even anything bad, just 2 podcasts about the Bible. But I don't want to continue listening to them on Spotify when I have other ways to listen to the Bible.
I have another podcast on here that I listen to. When it is done, it automatically starts playing the ones I don't want and that I have already stopped following. Why do they still play if I am no longer following them?!
Same issue here too - pod cast I do like and have listened to, but DO NOT WANT APPEARING ON MY APPLE CAR PLAY EVERY TIME I DRIVE ANYWHERE. Like, its really awkward.
My mother doesn't need to know what I listen to in the bath FFS. Sort it out Spotify
How do I get rid of my shows on Spotify????
Its very annoying to have shows in "your shows" that you don't want to listen to.
What I also notice is that when I'm listening to a podcast and the episode ends, it begins playing an episode from a random "your shows" section. I'm sure I haven't queued these up. I have to then pause Spotify and then get my phone out and change it back to the podcast I was listening to.
SOLUTION: Since Spotify is not fixing this issue with adding random shows to "your shows" or shows that you were curious about but don't want to listen to, my approach is to go into each of these shows and give them a 1 star rating. It doesn't remove the show, but if enough people do this, then maybe Spotify will fix this.

My Question or Issue
I am getting recommended episodes that I DO NOT EVER want to see. However, there is no way to reject them or click a "do not recommend" button that I can see. could someone maybe tell me how to get these off of my home page, or Spotify, can you either made an easy access button or just not recommend episodes on the home page? Because right now my eyes need bleach with what was just recommended to me. Thanks.
Why is to so hard to implement this feature? Are your developers that dense? You easily have over 200 people complaining about the same issue, which being a developer, I know is super easy to fix, even taking into account legacy code/features
The amount of pain Spotify has caused by refusing to implement this simple control is nearly irreparable. Why Spotify, why???
