On both my Apple TV and Yamaha receiver, Spotify appears to connect and songs start playing, but no sound comes out. Then, after about 10 seconds, the song will skip to the next and then this repeats. Have reinstalled Apple TV app, and Spotify plays fine on other devices on same Wi-Fi network/router.

This issue is currently being investigated for Samsung TVs (here) and non-Samsung TVs (here). We did our best to move the most recent comments to those threads, but we ask anyone who's previously posted here and is still experiencing the issue to subscribe to the relevant thread in order to stay up to date on the latest developments.
Since this thread was originally about Apple TV and a Yamaha receiver, we've updated the title to reflect this and we encourage users with these devices (and any other ones that don't fit in the above two categories) to check out the suggestions posted here and namely:
If the behavior persists, please confirm this and let us know your device model, OS version and the troubleshooting steps you've tried (if you haven't already).
We understand that the issue looks the same across all devices, but for now we'd like to keep the threads separate until we're absolutely sure that the root cause is the same.

Something you can try is editing your device's network settings, and if possible, disable DHCP and alter the DNS to one of Google's or Cloudfare's DNS' listed below:
In case you don't have these in your device's settings, try it in your router instead. If you haven't already, try rebooting the router and re-connecting all devices to the network. As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset.

I have the same problem with my Samsung AU9006 app. Song plays muted approx. 10-15 seconds and skips to the next song. I have reinstalled my Samsungs's Spotify app several times and don't have issues with other devices. Also Tidal works fine on my Samsung
having the same issue on my samsung TV (QLED). will not let me delete and redownload spotify app as it said it is included in the tv. only option is to “reinstall” but it keeps uninstalling right away. on the actual tv app it shows that it is playing but no sound comes out and song automatically changes after a couple seconds and seems to automatically log out and back in right before the song changes. super frustrating as it was working just last week and i use the tv app constantly.
Just read through all the posts and tried most of solutions. We've discovered the same issue today, no idea what to do from here 😑

I have the same issue. Logged in succesfully on TV using Google Chromecast. (All software updated). Chose a playlist and selected PLAY. The first song plays for 4 seconds, then skips to second song to 4 seconds and so on. No sound at all. Was working perfectly two weeks ago. I have spent 2 hours chatting to Spotify support - tried all sorts. Eventually they told me it is the TV that needs a factory reset, despite me saying that the TV and every other App I have on it works perfectly. They ended the chat, saying they have no other solution.
same issue here on my Philips 50” PUS8007 4K LED, i have tried everything and also just did a factory reset but it did not work! still the same problem, other apps work completely fine. please fix this asap

I can stream Spotify via Apple Airplay from my iPhone 13 to both the Apple TV 4K or directly to the Samsung TV with no issues.
If I try to use Spotify Application installed on Apple TV, the playlists will start and play for 6 seconds before moving to the next song, with no sound to either the TV or the Denon (via HDMI). I have tested both with and without the Stereo so we can remove the Denon or HDMI from the problem isolation.
The issue is between the Apple TV and the Spotify App installed on the Apple TV.
I have removed the application and re-installed with no changes.
The Samsung and AppleTV are both up on the latest versions of firmware.
It does look like several users on this thread have the exact same issue.

Save issue today on TV Samsung
Same issue, song plays for less than 10 seconds then skips to the next track. No sounds comes through tv speakers (no external speakers connected)

Im experiencing the same problems here.
Spotify connect to Cambridge Audio CXN V2
Spotify version: 8.8.96.364
Installed on an samsung S20FE runnjng on android 13
I did already a clean install of the spotify app and i did a factory reset with the cxn.
With spotify on my tablet and even on my laptop i have the same problem.
Connecting spotify with the chromecast does work.
I put my router on 2,4ghz instead of auto (5-2,4ghz) but that didnt help
Turned off the ip6 protocol, didnt help either
I have the same issue while playing Spotify through Chromecast Ultra connected to Denon receiver/Samsung TV
No sound and the song skips to next after 3-4 seconds.
Same problem whether I use the Cromecast remote og cast from phone or Macbook or what ever.
This has rendered my Cheomecast absolutely useless.
I did reinstall, reset everything etc. SO annoying..!

Reseting my tv's network settings helped
As stated above, pluggin out and in the cable for the router is the fix.
