My Question or Issue

I have 2 kids both under 14. I know with the family plan on their devices if I turn on the explicit content will doing this also block explicit content when streaming to Amazon Alexa/Apple Car Play/Google Home?

Hi @mhouser9, thanks for writing!

Yes, if you block the explicit content on each account, it will reflect on every device you use to play (Alexa, Google Home, Apple Car Play, etc).

Will it work if I say “Alexa play songs by X” and Alexa will not play or
find the song if it has explicit lyrics?

Hey @mhouser9, I'm sorry for the previous reply.

As you can see on the support page, be aware that:

  • It applies only for the individual account and device. For example, if you apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app.
  • It doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device.
