Hey @CptTrinity,
Thanks for getting back to me. As it's pending, it may just be a temporary authorization charge and when it's finished pending it should automatically be lifted. If it does post and the charge remains, then that's when it's recommended to get in touch with your financial institution. Any charges made my Spotify would appear on your receipts page, so I suggested checking that page and seeing if the same charge appears there.
Have a nice day!
Hey @CptTrinity, thanks for reaching out to the Community!
Could you let me know what your subscription status says here? If it says Free, follow these steps and attach a screenshot of your Receipts page. Make sure to hide sensitive information when you’re posting to the Community.
If it says Premium, try logging out > restart the device > log back in in the Spotify app, and let me know if you’re able to use your Premium features, such as no ads, unlimited skips.
You can also follow the steps provided in this support article and let me know if they make a difference.
Let me know how this goes!
@Billy-J
So, today was the last day of subscription, so it was automatically taken 21,90 BRL from my credit card to renew it, which is the normal price.
Problem is, the 7,00 BRL that has been taken before was not given back
so in total, Spotify took 28,90 BRL from my credit card
How do I refund the 7,00 BRL?
Hey @CptTrinity,
Thanks for getting back to me. Can you check your Receipts page here and let me know if you see the charge for 7,00 BRL there? If you don't, then I'd recommend checking to see if you have another Spotify account. If you're unaware of another account being charged - get in touch with your financial institution as they can make sure your account is secure from any unauthorized charges and can help further.
Keep me posted.
So, @Billy-J
I checked and there are no receipts of a 7,00 BRL charge, and I’m also pretty sure that this is my only Spotify account, I’ve always used this and only this e-mail. I’ve even looked for a “password reset” email from Spotify on my mail box but didn’t find any
Also, the 7,00 BRL charge came at the exact same time that I’ve tried to manually renew the 1 month subscription, so I don’t think it’s another account, it might be some sort of error on the payment system (probably bcz I tried to manually renew it even tho it automatically renews it, but that’s just a theory).
An important thing: My card is saying that the 7,00 BRL charge is “pending”, meaning that it is waiting for a confirmation.
Maybe it will be refunded once the invoice closes (not sure if “invoice” is the right term)? Idk…
