My Question or Issue

Why is "My Library" no longer my private & my own created library? I can hear "songs" that are NOT in my original library that I created? I don't like these songs that are being added by Spotify! I want them removed or not included from my own library.  I believed I have & created around 15 playlist in My Library (ggand4).

Hey @ggand4,

Thanks for reaching out on the Community!

Just to check, does these songs appear to be added in your playlists only? Or have you noticed that playlists and albums have been saved to Your Library as well?

If you've only noticed that these songs show in your playlists, it's worth checking so that Smart Shuffle is switched off, as this feature will add similar songs & recommendations to your playlists. You can do so by following these steps:

  1. Go to the Now Playing bar at the bottom of the screen or open any of your playlists.
  2. Look for the Shuffle symbol ShuffleSymbol.PNG and tap it.

It's worth noting that Smart Shuffle doesn't add songs to your lists permanently, and they should disappear right away after the feature has been switched off. Feel free to have a look at this post for more details about how Smart Shuffle works, if you'd like.

Should you experience that other playlists or perhaps followed podcasts has been added to Your Library, however, you can secure your account to make sure that you're the only one current signed in to it. You can do so by following the steps under Still have access to your account? on this page.

Hope this helps & feel free to let us know how you get on!

Thank you for replying Maria. Now which one is the shuffle switched “off?” Is that without the  “dot” in the shuffle or with the “dot?” Hope to heart from you again. Thank you

Hey there @ggand4,

Thanks for the reply & for the question!

The Shuffle feature has 3 different modes/settings right now. When the dot disappears from under the Shuffle arrows, the feature is switched off.

    Shuffle off

In short, they can be differentiated by these points:

  1. Shuffle switched off - button/symbol will be gray & no dot will appear under it.
  2. Shuffle play switched on - the symbol will turn green & a dot will appear underneath.
  3. Smart Shuffle switched on - the symbol will become green & a dot will appear. You can also recognize if the feature is on by the sparkle that been added to the Shuffle arrows.

Hope this clears things up 🙂

Cheers!
