Playlist has songs I didn't add

My Question or Issue

A playlist of mine from 2021 has several songs I didn't put in it, and they're interspersed throughout the playlist.

If I sort by "date added" the songs do not move orders, because I kept them in the order I added them in; and the not-mine songs don't move either, which suggests someone didn't go in and add them later (hacked/etc).

I am wondering if I somehow accidentally "enhanced" the playlist back when that was a thing and I can't undo it anymore now that the feature is gone? Some of the additions are songs that I like but just wouldn't include in this playlist, and some I don't know but they are adjacent to what I listen to (same artist or genre etc) which is why I suspect they were added by an algorithm.

Though even then, I would think all the mystery songs would be sorted by the date that I "enhanced." I can't figure this one out.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome. 

Since you mentioned that the playlist was created in 2021, it's possible that some of the songs were added with the Enhance feature back then as it fills the playlist with similar music and the additional songs you mentioned are from a similar artist or genre. However, it's not common that the songs aren't changing the order when using the Sort option. 

To continue investigating this case, would you mind checking if the songs get rearranged if you change the sorting options by title, duration or any other one? If not, this may be caused by some damaged cache stored on your device. In that case, we'd recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app by following the steps in this article. 

Also, would you mind checking on a different device (using your own account) to see if it makes any difference? If you don't have another one available, you can borrow one from a friend or family member to test it out. 

Lastly, would you mind confirming if this happens with just a single playlist?

The playlist can sort by other categories such as title and artist. When it sorts by date, I can see the dates on desktop, and it is indeed sorting by date. If I flip the order by date from newest to oldest, the playlist does flip. The added songs are just curiously spread out by date, as if they were added over time instead of all at once (not true).

To the best of my knowledge it is only this playlist with this issue.

Would you mind sending us a few screenshots of how the playlist looks like from your end so we can get a better understanding? You can include images where it's sorted by different categories and also highlight the songs that weren't added by you. 

You can attach them via the Insert Image option in the post editor, just make sure the screenshots don't show any sensitive info.
